Social Media Sports Music & Sound Game Design
1. Storytelling

In Storytelling, students use computer science to tell fun and interactive stories. Storytelling emphasizes creativity by encouraging club members to tell a unique story each day.
2. Fashion & Design

In Fashion & Design, students learn how computer science and technology are used in the fashion industry while building fashion-themed programs, like a fashion walk, a stylist tool, and a pattern maker.
3. Art

In Art, students create animations, interactive artwork, photograph filters, and other exciting, artistic projects.
4. Friends

In Friends, students create projects for a friend! Projects include telling the story of how the friendship started, making a cooperative game, and imagining a company together.
5. Social Media

In Social Media, students create fun social media style applications and games while learning about the computer science concepts that enable these programs to work.
6. Sports

In Sports, students use computer science to simulate extreme sports, make their own fitness gadget commercial, and create commentary for a big sporting event.
7.Music & Sound

In Music & Sound, students use the computer to play musical notes, create a music video, and build an interactive music display while learning how programming is used to create music.
8. Game Design

In Game Design, students learn basic video game coding concepts by making different types of games, including racing, platform, launching, and more!

        1. under the "state" tab select PEN DOWN option
        2. under the "rules" tab in ONCLICK click Forever and type: setpos mousepos
      2. Make a button called CG
    2. Make a button labeled: Change Pen Size with instructions: setpensize thickness and make it run Forever
      1. Create a slider called: thickness
      2. Minimum 1 , Maximum 30, Value 1
    3. Create 5 color buttons:
      1. setc "blue
      2. setc "Red
      3. setc "green
      4. setc "black
      5. setc "?  (you put in your own color here
      6. FREEZE all the buttons and slider tool
    4. Change the turtle into another shape... you choose

  4. Start Light-bot game and see how far you can get:

      1. Open Matching Game and go to the Internet and finish getting & resizing your pictures for shapes 21- 40.

      2. Now, hatch a turtle and add this code:
        setsh 21 wait 20 setsh 20

      3. Duplicate that turtle 19 times and then modify the code to the correct turtle shape numbers. Example: t2 should be setsh 22, t3 should be setsh 23, t4, setsh 24, t5, setsh 25, t6, setsh 26 etc.

      4. Go to Level 2 page and add a Clock feature (1-2 minute countdown- your choice).  When the timer gets to 0 it must send them to Last page(The End page that you will create.  Add a button on that page that will send them to the startup page)

      5. Add another button to Level 2 page that will Scramble all the pieces:

      4. Now, realign them and then insert a NEW page and add a transition

      5. Now go to the internet and copy 10 pictures from your favorite theme and make the next page that theme.  Remember the pictures must NOT be larger than your card size!  Place the pictures on shapes 21-40.

    Day 2:  Matching - Theme
      1. Open MW and your Matching Game project

      2. Find a picture on Google for your Theme and then paste and resize.

      3. Cut and paste the picture on shape 20

      4. Go to page1 of your App NOT the startup (landing) page and hatch 1 turtle on the page

      5. Open the backpack for the turtle and click on the rules tab and at the top (Onclick part), type:
        SETSH 1 wait 20  setsh 20

      6. Copy and paste that picture 9 more times until there are 10 turtles.  Remember to change the turtle shape to your turtle's name.  Ex: t4 should say setsh 4.

      7. So, what does 'sh' in "setsh" mean?  What does "wait 20" mean? 

    Day 1:  Matching
      1. Open MW and create a new project size 800x600

      2. Name this first page: STARTUP and then come up with a creative Title in a Large Textbox.

      3. Make an Instructions button using the announce command [find the matching pair]

      4. Draw a nice background behind thegame title (using Font, style, and size) **NOTE: freeze bg first if you are going to draw on it. 

      5. Create the credits text box at the bottom of the page with your name, copyright ©2016. (ALT + 0169)

      6. Create a button on this pagepresentationmode  nextpage or page1 

      7. Add a 2nd page then also add a transition for both the startup and page1

  2. Open MicroType and warm up for the first 5 minutes and wait for instruction
  3. Open your Microsoft Publisher App
  4. Now open Google Drive Account and start a NEW your Google Doc - Type your name and the title: Newspaper Stories
  5. Today you will follow the instructions so you can learn how to write an article using the following skills:
    1. What is a good Article Title, Subtitle, Writer's Name, and Answer: Who, What, When, Where, and Why.
    2. Can not use real student names and topics must be positive and not all negative.
    3. Must have 5 or more sentences for each of the Three stories.

  2. Open MicroType and continue working on Lessons
  3. Open Google Drive Account and open your Google Sheet (you created yesterday)
  4. Students will take the innovative and start their own digital school newspaper for Crews using Microsoft Publisher
  5. Students will need to have a title for their newspaper in WordArt and change the font.  They also need a picture at the top.
  6. Continue in MicroType if time allows working on Lesson 1 and 2 (Make sure you have filled in all data on row 9 (Homerow)
    1. Now go back to your Google Sheet and take timed test for H & E then enter the 4 scores in your Spreadsheet
    2. Start the next lesson I & R

Day 6: MicroType/ Google Sheets
  1. Open MicroType and continue working on Lesson 1 and 2
  2. Open Google Drive Account and finish your Google Sheet (you created yesterday)
  3. Register for Edpuzzle (Video Distribution System)- 7a- https://edpuzzle.com/join/bosuwfo

  4. Continue in MicroType if time allows working on Lesson 1 and 2 (Make sure you have filled in all data on row 9 (Homerow)

  1. Open Google Drive Account and create a new Google Sheet (use the following example to type on your sheet:)
  2. Open MicroType and continue working on Lesson 1 and 2
    1. Must use correct fingers
    2. Must learn (memorize) homerow keys
    3. Must Practice for 5 - 10 minutes each day
  3. Bring Earbuds in for class (*required)

Day4: Writing a concise business letter
  1. Finish working on the Letter to Mr. Hames  done on Google Drive Account
  2. Print the letter and turn it in by placing it on your computer.
  3. Open MicroType and continue working on Lesson 1 and 2
    1. Must use correct fingers
    2. Must learn (memorize) homerow keys
    3. Must Practice for 5 - 10 minutes each day
  4. Bring Earbuds in for class (*required)

Day3: EQ: How do I writing a concise business letter?
  1. Greet Teacher with eye contact, proper handshake, and correct name pronunciation and a warm greeting
  2. Watch Video Typist Online
  3. Register and take Pre-Test on Microtype
  4. Work on Lesson 1 in Microtype using Correct Fingers
  5. Finish working on the Letter to Mr. Hames  done on Google Drive Account
  6. Print the letter and turn it in by placing it on your computer.
  7. Open MicroType and continue working on Lesson 1
    1. Must use correct fingers
    2. Must learn (memorize) homerow keys
    3. Must Practice for 5 - 10 minutes each day
  8. Turn in Syllabus signed
  9. Bring Earbuds in for class (*required)
