Entrepreneural Mind-Set
http://johnmaxwellteam.com/2018-entreprenuerial-mindset?c=jmax-wp-bo&jmtc=mwm-word&jmta=mwm-word-mindset/
"Again this year at Crews students are learning what it means to be entrepreneurial. In Mr. Hames' class they are studying entrepreneurship by actually making a real business and taking it to real business minded adults. These are not just any adult. They are community minded professionals but more importantly business and servant-heart leaders who want to give back the same way they have been blessed by their community. Mr. Hames' takes 60+ eighth graders each semester and after only a few short weeks has them running a real business in their spare time. Students might sell products like jewelry, or preform a services like lawn care. Their ideas must be creative, unique, and give back in some way to their community. Every student must have a detailed business plan and then pitch their idea to the entire class for advice. Students comment online about their peer's business pitch and act as venture capitalist themselves looking at the details of each business. Students then get a chance to meet actual business owners in Crews' own version of Shark Tank where business executives give their advice and recommendations to the students. Their mentorship and feedback are priceless as they learn to set S.M.A.R.T. goals and the art of the pitch - elevator pitch. In the end, students realize there is nothing like making it real in Mr. Hames' class."

ighth grade business students in Mr. Hames' classroom - "BizKids" as we refer to you as - are going to be immersed in business training that will stretch your imagination and creativity as you enter the world of Entrepreneurship.  You will be asked to

Take the Quiz.

create an actual company from your talent, interests, and passion.  Your work must be innovative and value driven.  First we learn what are some of the characteristics of successful entrepreneurs and then we see if you already possess these qualities by taking a short quiz.  You will work on developing a business plan and write out a pitch that will be delivered to our own Crews Business Consultants to get their advice about your business plan.  You will also learn about how the global economy works by building your own stock portfolio and managing a self made mutual fund.  Your role as a stock portfolio manager will demonstrate the amazing benefits of compound interest and the "Rule of 72" as it relates to investing.  Along the way you will also create your own business cards, flyers, and even your very own business website to aid your new company.
This experience should be one you never forget.
